Full Job Description

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with current and prospective Clients, as well as with insurance carriers and industry partners. Additionally, the Account Manager of Employee Benefits should have exceptional interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with the Sales Team and Account Executives to identify the needs of the client in order to design proposals and marketing materials on the Employee Benefit Programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Develop 51+ (mid-market) marketing strategy with Account Executive • Perform risk management analysis and provide risk management advice through identifying all exposures to loss inherent in Client’s / Prospect’s Employee Benefits/ Human Resource operations Respond to Client policy questions, claims, and employee/employer issues within the appropriate timeline outlined by Alper’s Premier Client Services guidelines • Develop program design, marketing strategy and proposals for Current and Prospective Clients in collaboration with the Sales Executive for Employee Benefits • Manage and identify information regarding policy changes, account renewal, rounding, and cross-selling opportunities and complete all transactions within the Alper policy guidelines • Verify renewal and policy changes with carriers and present renewals as required by Account Executive • Coordinate Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and Ancillary marketing processes 120 days prior to renewal to meet the needs of Clients/Prospects • Conduct employee education and open enrollment meetings • Negotiate renewal and/or rate relief • Educate and advise Clients on compliance topics including, but not limited to, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform COMPETENCIES • Energy & Drive • Operational Skills • Personal & Interpersonal Relationships • Team Player • Analytical/Detail Oriented
