JOB SUMMARY:

Individuals and businesses that partner with Alper Services are diverse and often have very complex needs. As an Account Manager, you will play an integral role in our relationships with our Property & Casualty Clients, as well as with our insurance carriers and industry partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of insurance along with analytical abilities and good communications skills. 

As an Account Manager, you will work closely with our producers to build risk management programs for our Clients. A proactive and sales-focused approach to the job helps ensure comprehensive and complete coverages for Clients.  The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:           

A)   Education: College Degree preferred / ARM or CIC preferred.

B)   Current Illinois Property & Casualty Brokers licenses

C)   Experience:  Minimum of 3 -5 years of P&C commercial experience

D)   Valid Driver's License

E)   Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Good knowledge of risk management concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to strategically think and analyze the needs of Clients.
  • Excellent business sense, problem solving, project management and analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills, including relationship-building skills with Clients and Team Members
  • Proven track record in high productivity and meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in spreadsheet and presentation tools.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. AMS360 or comparable Agency Management System.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage assigned accounts, including 120-day pre-renewal meeting
    • Prepare and update exposures and coverage checklist
    • Identify information regarding account renewal and rounding opportunities
    • Assist in gathering Client information for renewal applications
  • Develop, with Producer/AE, account marketing strategy
  • Collect underwriting information and create submissions
  • Negotiate coverage, premium, terms and conditions
  • Prepare proposals for Producer/AE delivery to Client
  • Manage policy changes
  • Document Account activities in AMS360 and according to Company protocols
  • Provide timely Client service, including policy and coverage questions
  • Quality control of our policy check-in process; ensure accurate and timely delivery of policies to Client
  • Adhere to Company Policy on billing and collection of policy premiums
  • Assist on Service Plans and Stewardship Reports
  • Keep informed of industry developments and attend industry functions
  • Continuing education and professional designation acquisition 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Typical office work environment
  • Work is performed during standard business hours, however extended hours may be required on occasion to complete special assignment
  • Limited travel required, typically to Client locations within the greater Chicago area
