Individuals that partner with Alper Services are diverse and dynamic individuals.  As an Account Assistant, you will use your communication skills and organizational abilities to help shape how new and existing business grows in our Property & Casualty Commercial Division.

You will provide administrative, technical and clerical support in the Property & Casualty Commercial Division. Your primary role will be to assist the Account Managers and staff in marketing/servicing of Client accounts. At Alper Services, this position is a stepping-stone to full Account Manager.

You need to be proactive, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and sales-focused to help maintain good Client relationships.



  1.  Education: College Degree preferred
  2. Experience: 1 to 2 years Property & Casualty insurance experience
  3. License: Current Illinois Property & Casualty license
  4. Preferred Qualifications:
  • General insurance experience
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy level
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Experience with AMS360 or similar agency management system


  1. Responsible for Client pre-renewal process including: order loss runs, prepare Premium and Loss Summary and/or Claim Impact Summary, order Workers' Compensation experience mod, set up and update applications in Agency Management System
  2. Prepare policy binders for Client and registers of insurance
  3. Process auto ID cards
  4. Process certificates of insurance
  5. Create correspondence / reports / and other documents, and clerical duties as requested by Director of Insurance and Account Managers,
  6. Coordinate mail / scanning, faxing, filing and copying,
  7. Periodic relief on the reception desk during lunch and breaks as scheduled
  8. Participates in other projects / activities as requested by Team Leader
  9. All work completed per Alper standards for quality and in the time frames required
  10. Attend all required meetings, internal and external
  11. Participate in other projects / activities as needed


  • Typical office work environment
  • Occasional travel to Client meetings in Chicago and suburban areas (must have access to own transportation)
  • Work is performed during regular business hours; however, extended hours may be required to complete assignments.
