JOB SUMMARY:

Individuals and businesses that partner with Alper Services are diverse and often have very complex needs. As an Account Executive, you will play a leading role in our relationships with our Clients, as well as with our insurance carriers and industry partners. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong risk management experience with a deep knowledge of Property & Casualty products.

As an Account Executive, you will build risk management programs for our Clients, often supported by an Account Manager. A proactive and sales-focused approach to the job helps ensure comprehensive and complete coverages for Clients.  The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

A)   Education: College Degree

  • ARM, CIC or CPCU preferred

B)   Current Illinois Property & Casualty Brokers licenses

C)   Experience:  Minimum of 10 years of P&C commercial experience in Marketing, Sales and/or Underwriting

D)   Valid Driver's License and available vehicle to drive to Client appointments as needed

E)   Preferred candidates will also have:

  • Strong knowledge of P&C coverages, risk management concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of captive and alternative risk transfer programs
  • Lead the execution of global programs which support a portfolio of accounts
  • Identify Clients' individual multinational risk strategies and corporate objectives
  • Ability to strategically think and analyze the needs of Clients.
  • Excellent business sense, problem solving, project management and analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills, including relationship-building skills with Clients and Team Members
  • Proven track record in high productivity and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. AMS360 or comparable Agency Management System. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design and develop comprehensive insurance programs for Clients / Prospects to meet their individual business needs in US and worldwide
  • Determine insurance and risk management needs, inspect current insurance policies, risk management and safety plans, property, products and records
  • Develop marketing strategies
  • Work with Account Manager to complete company submissions
  • Manage assigned Client / Prospect accounts, including primary communications and presentation of proposals or renewals
  • Participate in 120-day pre-renewal meeting
    • Oversee updating of exposure and coverage checklist
    • Identify opportunities for account rounding
  • Negotiate coverage, premium, terms and conditions
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot, as needed, with Account Managers, Claims, AuditRate
  • Document Account activities in AMS360 and according to Company protocols
  • Provide excellent Client service, including policy and coverage questions
  • Adhere to Company Policy on billing and collection of policy premiums
  • Attend all sales and company meetings, as required
  • Keep informed of industry developments and attend industry functions
  • Continuing education and professional designation acquisition 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Typical office work environment
  • Work is performed during standard business hours, however extended hours may be required on occasion to complete special assignment
  • Most travel within greater Chicago area; limited travel within U.S. and international
